Meet our founder, Attorney Mayrise DeLaTorre, a passionate legal expert with over two decades of rich experience. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mayrise chose San Antonio, TX as her home. She earned her B.A. in Communications, Publicity, and Public Relations from the University of Puerto Rico, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Later, she pursued her Juris Doctor at the Interamerican University’s School of Law, graduating Cum Laude.
Licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and Puerto Rico, and admitted to the Federal District Court of Puerto Rico and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, Mayrise possesses extensive knowledge in areas including family law, inheritance law, and torts.
Her specialization in immigration law enables her to defend clients against potential deportations, guide them through complex petitions and applications, and assist with consular processes.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico. With a Peruvian father of Scottish descent, a paternal grandmother from Bolivia, and maternal ancestors from Spain. Moved to SA, TX in late 2009.
Graduated Cum Laude from UTSA with a BA in Modern Languages with a concentration in Japanese.
After graduating, I started working for RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) in 2014. I began as a Legal Assistant in what was then called the Fee for Service Program. In 2016, I became a DOJ Accredited Representative with partial accreditation to represent individuals before the Department of Homeland Security.
Granted full accreditation in 2017 and was able to represent individuals before the immigration court. In 2019, I began law school in Puerto Rico and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2022. I became an attorney in 2023.
